Investment bonds — because government cannot do the job alone

Maintaining the infrastructure of any nation is a very complicated and difficult task. By infrastructure I mean the myriad number of bridges and roads that we all travel on everyday. We depend upon these structures to earn our living and to make possible travel and the delivery of merchandise from distant locations. Maintaining these structures is very expensive — far too expensive for governments to pay for in their entirety. This is why federal, state and even local communities will float investment bonds — they are an attractive investment opportunity which also provides needed funds to underwrite these construction projects. They are a necessary type of investment because no government has the financial resources to pay the entire cost itself.
